Join the Northern Branch committee on a guided walk around Low Burnhall Wood, Durham, and learn about the Woodland Trust's work to establish a new woodland
Low Burnhall is a patchwork of habitats, including gnarled old sweet chestnut trees in a block of ancient woodland, areas of recent planting, wet woodland houses native amphibians, and the wildflower meadows attract clouds of butterflies in the summer.
This captivating woodland is a tranquil haven for people and wildlife, within easy reach of Durham city, and plays an important part in local history.
Venue
Please park at Low Burnhall car park, South Road (A177), near the junction with A167. You can find more information on how to access Low Burnhall wood on the Woodland Trust website.
We will be outside for the accompanied walk, so please dress according to the weather conditions and with appropriate footwear. We will be on rough, sloping and often slippery ground. Dogs are welcome.
Access is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs or people with limited mobility, as the walk around the wood is on rough slippery paths.

This event is free to attend, places are limited so advance registration is essential through the link at the top of the page. A voluntary contribution to the Woodland Trust is encouraged.
